The Computer program to get information in everyday life, e.g. distinguishing same-packaged products, since barcodes are present on almost every packaging
With this program, a text can be assigned to a barcode which is
read by a barcode handscanner.
The associated text can be retrieved any number of times by
repeated reading of the barcode.
With the program TEXTINFO FOR BLIND PEOPLE, also automatically generated barcodes can be printed on labels.
TEXTINFO FOR BLIND PEOPLE also enables to store all program's settings in one
chooseable directory if desired - this is, for example, useful for placing
TEXTINFO FOR BLIND PEOPLE on a USB stick together with the settings.
The directory for the settings is specified with the -profile command line switch.
If the settings should be placed into the same directory where TEXTINFO
FOR BLIND PEOPLE is running, invoke TEXTINFO FOR BLIND PEOPLE with textinfo -profile .
If the settings should be placed in the directory MyProfile which is
a subdirectoy of the directory where TEXTINFO FOR BLIND PEOPLE is running (with
automatic consideration the different drive letters for USB sticks), invoke
TEXTINFO FOR BLIND PEOPLE with textinfo -profile MyProfile
The user interface is available in English or French (many thanks to Olivier JACQUES for the French translation).
New feature in Version 1.4: Deaf-and-blind people can recognize barcodes on products with the program Summsen.
The program can be downloaded by clicking on this link
textinfo-install.exe
(about 613,5 KB)
After downloading the file, open the directory where you downloaded
the file, start it and follow the installation instructions.
After installation, you should read the manual which can be viewed by clicking
on the item User manual for TEXTINFO (in English),
Notice d'utilisation de TextInfo or Anleitung für
TEXTINFO (in Deutsch) in the program group TEXTINFO.
