Installing and using Khumesh in Yiddish

First, download the self-extracting archive tpr.exe

Then run the downloaded tpr.exe file in order to extract the files.

The extracted .tpr files have to be copied into the directory C:\Users\<Current username>\AppData\Local\jewishcal-tpr where <Current username> must be replaced with the name of the currently logged user.

Displaying a torah section in Yiddish

By single-clicking on a day in the two-month and week calendar view, or by double-clicking on a day in the one-month calendar view, you can click on the button View torah reading in Yiddish! to view the Khumesh portion of Shabbat and holiday readings in Yiddish.

Note for Hebrew Windows users in Israel

In the Luach in the two-month calendar view, click on the menu Calendar, on the menu item Preferences..., Display and then on Hebrew Font.
In the appearing dialog box, select Present and OK.

Then, Hebrew can be set as default language by selecting Hebrew in the combobox Language and by activating the checkbox Hebrew.

By clicking in the menu Calendar on the menu item Preferences, Calendar calculation and Choosing Diaspora/Israel..., the readings and holidays calculation can be set for Israel.

Please restart the Luach, so that the changes can take effect.

Week calendar view: By clicking on the symbol Arrows
One-month calendar view: By clicking on a weekday name or by clicking on the blue monitor symbol Monitor
Year calendar view: By clicking on the blue monitor symbol Monitor

Using the Luach Pirsum (Publisher) program

To use the Luach Publisher, the Luach for MS-Windows Vista/7 has to be installed, which can be done before or after installing the Luach Publisher.
More information about this program is contained in the help file in the Luach Publisher program group.

Note: the setting for shabbat begin and end is taken from the Luach for Vista/7.

To create a calendar object, click on a button with the desired calendar object (Objects), drag on the drawing area with pressed left mouse key a rectangle, in which the object should be displayed, do the desired settings and click on OK.
Subsequent changes can be made by clicking on the button with the arrow symbol and by double-clicking on the caption of the object.

Please also look for sample files for the Luach Pirsum (Publisher) which are installed in the samples subfolder of the Luach Pirsum folder (by default C:\Program Files\Luach Pirsum\samples).
After loading of a sample file, you only have to click on the arrow button, then on the head of the object - then the settings for the selected object, like language or location etc., can be changed.


System requirements for Luach for MS-Windows Vista/7 and Luach Pirsum for MS-Windows Vista/7:

Windows Vista 64-bit or Windows 7 64-bit, Super VGA graphics card with a graphics resolution of 1024*768 pixels and HighColor (16 Bit) color resolution.
